This course explores the links between violence and culture through the lenses of anthropology and cultural analysis.  We will pay special attention to the role of cultural differences in the structuring of violence, and to the use of anthropological perspectives on culture and theory in formulating analyses of violence. We will cover issues of war, militarization, genocide, politics, gender, sexuality, technology, violence, capitalism, race, and class.
