Burke Farmers Market

The farmers market is open seasonally each Saturday, 8am-12pm, from May 7-October 29. There is plenty of parking in the VRE parking garage.

Mason Farmers Market

This farmers market is usually setup on the JC Plaza, just outside of the JC in front of Robinson A and B. Times and dates vary so check the Mason website for more info.

Burke Lake Park:

Burke Lake is surrounded by beautiful parks and trails. There are also frisbee golf courses, playgrounds, and a minigolf course. There is even an icecream shop open during the summer. Cars with VA tags park free.

Celebrate Fairfax! Festival

This festival is great for kids as there are lots of rides. There is live music, karyoke, food, more food, fireworks, vendor booths, and much more. Tickets are required for admission to the festival.

Fairfax Fall Festival

Each year Old Town Fairfax hosts a fall festival. Festival tents line Main Street and University Drive. Local vendors sell crafts, gifts, food, and festival gear. There is live music and delicious kettle corn. There is also shuttle bus service that takes visitors from Mason's parking lot H to the festival and back.

Hard Times Cafe is a good choice, especially if you want great bowl of veggie chili. It is close to campus. The kitchen closes at 1am.

This is a great place to get a good hibachi or sushi lunch or dinner. The menu selection at Otani is great.

Sunflower Restaurant has a Falls Church location too. All the menu option at Sunflower are Vegetarian/Vegan. It is a small restaurant and can sometimes be crowded, but it is well worth the wait. The curries are quite good.

Seats for all shows are $4 at University Mall Theaters, but on Tuesdays seats cost $2 all day. The theater shows older movies and has special midnight showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
