Sally Keith Named 2016 Guggenheim Fellow

Sally Keith Named 2016 Guggenheim Fellow

In its ninety-second competition for the United States and Canada, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded 175 Fellowships to a diverse group of scholars, artists, and scientists. Mason poetry faculty Sally Keith is among the ten poets named as Fellows this year.

Guggenheim Fellows are appointed on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise, and the successful candidates were chosen from a group of nearly 3,000 applicants. Edward Hirsch, poet and president of the Guggenheim Foundation, commented, "These artists and writers, scholars and scientists, represent the best of the best . . . It’s an honor to be able to support these individuals to do the work they were meant to do."
