The Tupelo Press recently announced the winners of the First Annual Tupelo Broadside Prize. Susan Tichy's poem, "To Speak of One Is to Speak of the Other" was one of only three poems chosen out of over 350 entries. The Tupelo Press said that, "a broadside can become a doorway into a truly memorable textual landscape," and that the winning poems, "instantly suggest themselves as a designer’s dream."
Tichy's next volume of poems is The Avalanche Path in Summer (forthcoming in Fall, 2018), in which she takes her life-long experience of walking in mountains and stirs it into a mix of ideas about mountains from the European and Chinese traditions.
