On Wednesday, November 6th, at 6 p.m. come out to the first Alumni-Faculty Well Library induction ceremony,
recognizing the work of alumni who have stayed at Mason and become faculty members. Inductees include three MFAers--Scott Berg (fiction, ‘97), Mel Nichols (poetry, ‘99) and Andrew Wingfield (fiction, ‘99)--as well as Daniel Gifford from History, who holds both a master’s and ph.d. from Mason. The ceremony continues a series begun more than a year ago by the folks at the Mason Inn, who have inducted faculty writers—including all of the MFA faculty plus three alums—into the Library at the Well. The point is to recognize the writing of Mason’s faculty and alums, and in this case those who are both, by placing their books into the cubicles that form the Well’s end walls. It all starts at 6:00 p.m. with free food and free drinks for at least the first round. Come out, reconnect with faculty and friends, and make new friends.
